Fat transfer

AKA Autologus Fat Grafting

A minimally invasive procedure used for facial rejuvenation. The term “autologous fat grafting” refers to the procedure in which fat is harvested from the person who will receive it. Autologous fat is considered by many to be the ideal filler material for facial rejuvenation, as it is 100% biocompatible, produces a soft and natural result, and is typically a permanent intervention.

How it works

Fat will be harvested through a cannula from the lower abdomen or thigh and injected into one or two subunits of the face to target loss of volume, skin tone/texture.

Timeline

1- Initial Consultation

An initial consultation must be scheduled to determine whether this procedure is the right fit and to discuss facial rejuvenation goals

2- Pre-Procedure Prep

1 week prior to appointment, you may be advised to cease the use of certain medications and supplements. During this time it is also adviseable to stay well hydrated and maintain a healthy diet.

3- Appointment

At the appointment you will meet with Dr. Okland to finalize/confirm the treatment plan. Anesthesia will be administered for comfort during the harvesting and injection phases (typically local anesthesia sufficient).

4- Harvesting & Injection

Dr. Okland will use liposuction techniques to harvest fat from the agreed upon donor site. The fat is then processed to separate viable fat cells and re-injected into the treatment areas.

5- Post Procedure

Dr. Okland will review post procedure care instructions and schedule any follow up appointments
